Terms for contributing

Plain terms for the photos you add. No legalese theatre — just what happens to a frame once you upload it.

The licence you grant

By uploading a frame you grant us a royalty-free, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to use that photo for the purposes of this artistic project. You keep whatever rights you had in the photo; this licence simply lets us use it as part of the project — which may mean it is shown alongside other frames, or chosen on its own.

How your frame may be used

That licence covers displaying the photo on this website and reproducing it in other formats — for example a physical or online exhibition, or a print run — as part of the project. Frames are always shown anonymously; we never attach your identity to them.

Anonymous, and removable

Contributions are anonymous by default. You can ask us to take a frame down at any time — no account needed — via the removal page. When you do, we stop using it, remove it from the website and from the location’s stack, and delete the stored image.

Honesty about what we can’t undo

If a frame has already been built into something that was produced — say it’s hanging in an exhibition or already printed in a run — taking it back from those is best-effort only and not guaranteed. We will stop any future use and remove it from the website and the stack, but we cannot recall things that have already been made or shown.

See the privacy notice for what personal data we do and do not handle. This is the artistic-use agreement for contributed photos.
